Because grape fruit seed extract is an all-natural substance, there are very few side effects. Estimates say that 3 to 5 percent of the population is allergic to citrus fruits, and if you are one of them, you may have an allergic reaction to grape fruit seed extract though not all do. If you are allergic to citrus fruits and still want to give grape fruit seed extract a try, start with a small dose and work you way up if there are no problems.
Currently, there is no conclusive evidence that grape fruit seed extract interacts with any other drug. In fact, the drug interactions caused by drinking fresh grape fruit juice do not exist with grape fruit seed extract as it does not contain the compounds in grape fruit juice that interfere with these medications.
